
Miami, Fla., April 7, 2008 - HOPS, a leading provider of data analytic tools and products, today announced that Christopher Marczyk has joined the organization as Senior Vice President of Software and Platform Development.
Marczyk has 20 years of software development and database design experience, including 16 years working in financial transaction system processing, including credit and debit cards, as well as prepaid products.
"Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to our technology team," said Simeon Kohl, CEO of HOPS. "His detailed expertise of the credit and gift card markets will be a valuable asset to the team."
Before joining HOPS, Marczyk was Vice President of Fidelity National Information Systems where he ran the software and database development, quality assurance and change management teams for the prepaid division in Sunrise, Fla. The staff included more than 300 engineers in many different locations, including overseas.
Prior to FNIS, he worked at WildCard Systems (WCS) and eFunds (EFD) in various technology roles, including enterprise architecture, software development and data warehouse design and development. As a senior member of the enterprise architecture team, his role was to design and implement scalable and reliable platform enhancements to increase system capacity for a client base growing an average of 30-40%, year-over-year.
At WCS and EFD, Marczyk played key roles in launching many of the prepaid products found common in the industry today such as gift, travel, incentive, reloadable and health care flexible spending account prepaid products. These open-loop card services interfaced with many processors such as Visa, MasterCard and Discover Financial Services, as well as pinned-based card processing with such debit networks as Interlink, Maestro, Plus and Cirrus. Marczyk also served as the technology leader to migrate and launch the American Express prepaid products on the EFD platform.
Marczyk received a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
