Mark K. Logan

Chief Counsel

Mark Logan brings to HOPS a broad-based legal background of more than 23 years. As Chief Counsel, his work touches each facet of the company's daily operations and strategic planning.

Mark's expertise is the result of his work as both a public and private-sector attorney with principal concentration upon all aspects of governmental and administrative practice. As an AV-Rated Martindale-Hubble attorney, he has represented a number of Fortune 500 and other clients before a wide variety of governmental bodies including Congress, the Executive Office of the President, Federal Agencies, State Legislatures, Agencies and Regulatory Bodies.

Prior to joining HOPS as Chief Counsel, Mark was a founding partner in the Tallahassee law firm of Smith, Ballard and Logan, P.A., one of the State of Florida's premier legislative and administrative law firms. Some of his clients included AT&T, Florida Power and Light Company, Barr Laboratories, The New York Yankees, Prudential Financial and HOPS.

He spent a number of years in Washington, D.C., where he was an associate in the Georgetown-based law firm of Collier, Shannon, Rill and Scott. There, he represented several manufacturing trade associations on federal, state and local environmental issues. He also served as Assistant Counsel and Counsel to the United States Budget Committee.

A third generation Floridian, Mark is a graduate of Emory University with a Bachelor in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, and the University of Florida School of Law. He is the father of three teenagers and is involved in many local civic activities in Tallahassee. He is also a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the national trade association for in-house legal counsel.
