Steve Boyer

Steve Boyer is a sales, marketing and business relationship professional who has spent his career with firms that specialize in automation solutions for retail, banking and government. At HOPS, Steve's responsibilities include sales, marketing, strategic initiatives and partner development.

Prior to joining HOPS, Steve was Senior Vice President of Business Development at WildCard Systems, which became eFunds Corporation (EFD), which then became Fidelity Information Systems (FIS). While with eFunds, Steve closed the largest deal in eFunds history, by securing a 10-year partnership with American Express for the outsourcing of their branded prepaid platform. In his position, Steve interacted with top-tier financial institutions and brands, including Wachovia, Chase, ADP Corporation, AXP, AmSouth, MBNA, Visa, Discover and Bank of America.

Steve was also the co-founder of ValueLink, the pioneer of merchant-based stored value cards. ValueLink was founded around the idea of moving a paper-based gift certificate to a plastic, magnetic-stripped card. The first commercial application of the idea was deployed as a test at BlockBuster. The gift card industry now amounts in the tens of billions of dollars in cards sold annually. ValueLink is now owned by First Data Corporation (FDC).

While at NaBanco Corporation, previously the worlds largest processor of credit card transactions, Steve closed and managed such accounts as Sears Roebuck Corporation, Allied Federated Department Stores, Sports Authority, Saks Fifth Avenue, Linens 'n Things and BlockBuster Corporation. NaBanco was also subsequently acquired by FDC.

Steve was Chief Market Strategist for Convergent Group (CVGP), where he provided market assessments and strategies for their GIS-based professional services applications and engagements, typically for municipalities. CVGP was acquired by Schlumberger (SLB).

Steve also held positions in Point-of-Sale and banking automation earlier in his career with the companies such as Diebold, Spectra Physics and Omron.

Steve is a graduate of Western Illinois University, where he earned a degree in Marketing and Business Administration.
